Resilience Program

A Fresh Start. A Path Forward.

The Resilience Program is a referral-only alternative education option within Dalton Public Schools, designed to support students who would benefit from a more individualized, structured, and restorative academic setting.

This program provides a fresh opportunity for students to re-engage with their learning, build positive relationships, and grow both academically and personally. Through targeted instruction, character development, and supportive guidance, Resilience helps students reset, refocus, and prepare for long-term success—both in school and beyond.

Who is Eligible?

Enrollment in the Resilience Program is by principal, counselor or school referral only.

Students are identified by school teams—based on specific academic, behavioral, or engagement challenges—and are referred to the program when a different approach is needed to support their success.

Program Goals

At Resilience, we are dedicated to helping students become life-long learners who are academically confident, emotionally aware, and respectful of themselves and others. We emphasize:

  • Academic growth in a supportive setting

  • Development of decision-making and interpersonal skills

  • Character building through consistent expectations and positive reinforcement

  • Restorative practices that empower students to learn from challenges and move forward

This program is not available through open application.

If you believe your student may benefit from this type of support, please speak with your school counselor for guidance.
