DALTON, GA – Dalton Public Schools proudly announces that two of its outstanding students, George Marte and Diana Victoriano have been selected for Junior Achievement (JA) of Georgia's inaugural Nineteen Under Nineteen class. This prestigious recognition honors students who embody JA's core values of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and career readiness.
Marte and Victoriano were chosen from a pool of over 110,000 students statewide, distinguished by their remarkable achievements and commitment to JA's principles. Both are participants in JA's transformative 3DE program at The Dalton Academy, which provides real-world learning experiences.
George Marte, who hails from the Dominican Republic, has thrived in JA's rigorous curriculum. He shared, "The teaching approach, the dynamics, the challenges—it’s all so different. The best way to learn is through challenge, and I’ve never experienced that in any school until Junior Achievement. It has truly made me better." George aspires to pursue a career in Engineering Technology to make a positive impact on others' lives.
Diana Victoriano, an 11th grader, has excelled particularly in case challenges within the JA program. She noted, "Junior Achievement has provided me with opportunities to learn various techniques for approaching problems and has helped me recognize my creativity." Her team earned an honorable mention in a national competition for The Home Depot case challenge. After graduation, Victoriano plans to attend college and the Police Academy to become an HSI Agent.
Both students will receive scholarships to support their educational and entrepreneurial goals. This recognition not only highlights their remarkable accomplishments but also emphasizes the strong collaboration between Dalton Public Schools and Junior Achievement of Georgia, empowering students to achieve new heights.
