Dalton, Ga. ā Dalton Public Schools proudly congratulates Blue Ridge School for earning the Distinguished Recognition Level for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) for the 2024ā2025 school year. This recognition places Blue Ridge among a select group of schools in Georgia honored for demonstrating excellence in implementing PBIS with fidelity and impact.
PBIS is an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, strengthen school climate, and support improved academic outcomes. By emphasizing proactive strategies and positive reinforcement, PBIS empowers educators to create consistent, supportive learning environments where students can thrive both behaviorally and academically.
During the Dalton Public Schools Board of Education meeting on Monday, October 13, Principal Veronica Rodriguez and Assistant Principal Michelle Huch were formally recognized for their leadership and the schoolās exceptional PBIS implementation. Their efforts, supported by the entire Blue Ridge community, exemplify Dalton Public Schoolsā districtwide focus on fostering environments where students are supported and celebrated for their growth and success.
Schools recognized by the GaDOE for PBIS implementation are evaluated through the Georgia Multi-Tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS) using End-of-Year (EOY) Recognition Criteria. The Distinguished designation is awarded to schools that consistently meet the highest standards for behavioral data fidelity, equity, and outcomes-based practices.
āDalton Public Schools is proud of Blue Ridge Schoolās accomplishment and the continued dedication of all our schools to building positive, student-centered learning environments,ā said Dr. Steven Craft, Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools. āThis recognition highlights the collective commitment of our educators to supporting the whole childāacademically, socially, and emotionally."
