Dalton Public Schools Honors Veterans with Districtwide Celebrations

Today, Dalton Public Schools proudly celebrated Veterans Day with heartfelt events across the district, honoring those who have served our nation. Schools throughout the district hosted special celebrations, welcoming student and staff family members who are veterans to enjoy breakfast gatherings and recognition assemblies featuring student performances and tributes.

Students across all grade levels had the opportunity to learn about the meaning of service and sacrifice, hearing directly from veterans about their experiences. Many schools held assemblies where students sang patriotic songs and shared messages of gratitude, helping to deepen their understanding of what it means to serve one’s country.

This year, Dalton Public Schools proudly recognized 35 veterans across the district, including staff members who continue to serve their community through education. In appreciation of their dedication, district administration visited each school to present veteran staff members with special shirts honoring their service—both to the nation and to the students of Dalton.

Additionally, during the Dalton Board of Education meeting held on Monday, November 10, Board members Tulley Johnson and Matt Evans, along with Dr. Robert Shaw, Associate Superintendent of Student Support Services, were honored for their service as veterans.

ā€œVeterans Day gives our students and staff the opportunity to come together in appreciation of the men and women who have selflessly served,ā€ said Superintendent Dr. Steven Craft. ā€œWe are proud to count veterans among our Dalton Public Schools family and appreciate the positive example they set for our students.ā€

Dalton Public Schools extends sincere gratitude to all veterans for their dedication and sacrifice, and for inspiring our students to lead with courage, service, and heart.
