March Game Ball Winners Recognized for Districtwide Excellence

DALTON, GA. — Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce the Game Ball winners for the month of March. Superintendent Steven Craft launched the Game Ball recognition program to honor staff members who exemplify the district’s four core values from Culturize by Jimmy Casas: expecting excellence, carrying the banner, being a merchant of hope and being a champion for students.

The Game Ball Awards recognize employees whose roles support the entire district rather than a single school building. These individuals work behind the scenes and across schools to ensure students, staff and families have the support they need to succeed.

Sgt. Steve Collins, School Resource Officer Supervisor

Sgt. Steve Collins is recognized for his exceptional communication, leadership, and commitment to school safety across the district. He consistently provides clear, timely, and informative updates to both schools and the district office, ensuring that administrators and staff are well-informed, prepared, and able to respond effectively when needed.

Beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, Sgt. Collins plays a critical role in fostering strong partnerships between law enforcement and our schools. His proactive approach, attention to detail, and steady presence help create an environment where students and staff feel supported and secure.

George Woods, Director of Athletic Development and Facilities

George Woods is recognized for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to student engagement across Dalton Public Schools. He goes above and beyond to connect students with meaningful extracurricular opportunities, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, and feel a stronger sense of belonging within their school community.

Through his leadership of programs such as Dalton Cats Athletics, George creates enriching opportunities that directly support students’ growth, providing them with positive outlets, encouragement, and a sense of connection. His ability to build relationships and intentionally engage students ensures that more students feel seen, supported, and motivated to participate.

Dalton Public Schools proudly celebrates these March Game Ball winners for the passion and dedication they bring as they inspire students and leave their mark across our district.
